FAQ

Good questions to ask before a backup.

Clear answers about recovery, what is protected, and where the current product stands.

01

What happens if I lose access to GitHub?

Your mirror is stored separately from GitHub. Sign in to slerim, download the repository bundle, and use Git to inspect or restore its history.

02

Can a force-push remove an older commit from the mirror?

No. Dated refs preserve branch tips, and the mirror keeps the Git objects needed to reach those commits.

03

Do I need special software to restore a repository?

No. A downloaded bundle is a standard Git repository. Clone it with Git, then check out the commit you need.

04

How is storage measured?

Plan limits use stored size after compression and deduplication. Unrelated repositories can share identical objects in the storage pool.

05

Are the listed plans available for purchase?

Not yet. The prices describe the planned tiers for this early build; the demo is available without payment.

06

How can I check the research claims?

The research page describes the experiments, inputs, results, and limits. The experiment harness and raw output are included in the repository.

Try the restore flow.

The demo is seeded with repositories and does not require GitHub sign-in.
